Overview

Eclipse Kapua and Eclipse Ditto are both Eclipse IoT projects that serve complementary roles in industrial IoT architectures. Together they provide a complete device management and digital twin solution.

Integration Architecture

Devices → Kapua (Device Management) → Ditto (Digital Twins) → Applications

• Kapua: Device provisioning, authentication, telemetry ingestion
• Ditto: Digital twin state management, policy enforcement, API exposure

Use Cases

• Smart Manufacturing: Kapua manages shop floor devices; Ditto maintains digital twins for production line simulation
• Asset Management: Track physical assets through Kapua while modeling their state in Ditto
