ZITADEL AG is a Swiss company based in Wil (St. Gallen canton), founded by Florian Forster and Livio Amstutz. The company builds ZITADEL, an open-source identity platform designed as a modern alternative to Keycloak and Auth0 for B2B SaaS and internal platforms.

• Modern protocols — OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, LDAP (for legacy integrations), SCIM 2.0 for user provisioning

Positioning

ZITADEL competes with Auth0 (Okta), WorkOS, and Clerk on the B2B SaaS identity side, and with Keycloak on the self-hostable open-source side. Its differentiator is being both open-source AND multi-tenant natively — neither Keycloak nor Auth0 offers both.
