

OrangeHRM is a comprehensive human resource management system that combines core HR functionality with optional advanced modules. Originally launched in 2006, it has grown to serve over 5 million users across businesses of all sizes.
The platform is built on a dual-edition model. The Starter edition is free, open-source software licensed under GPL-3.0, providing essential HR capabilities including employee management, leave tracking, time and attendance, and basic reporting. It is written in PHP with a Vue.js frontend and can be self-hosted on Linux or Windows servers, or deployed via Docker.
The Advanced edition adds enterprise functionality including recruitment management, performance reviews, training modules, and integrations with payroll providers like ADP, Paylocity, and TriNet. Advanced also introduces OrangeHRM AI for predictive insights and workflow automation.
OrangeHRM supports both on-premise and cloud-hosted deployments, with mobile apps available for iOS and Android. The system includes a REST API for custom integrations and connects with third-party services including LinkedIn, Workable, QuickBooks, Power BI, and various SSO providers (Okta, OneLogin, Microsoft Entra ID).
